Dorset County Pension Fund - Overseas Pensioners Life Certification Process

23 August 2022

Dorset County Pension Fund will shortly be writing to all of our overseas pensioners as we are required to verify that our records are correct and to ensure pension payments should continue to be made. This acts as an anti-fraud exercise and safeguards the pension fund.

We have engaged with Western Union International Bank, part of the Western Union Group, to facilitate this process and will contact pensioners to advise of the necessary actions required. In essence, this will require a visit to a Western Union Agent location to confirm your identity and that you remain entitled to receive a pension from the Fund.  Please note that an alternative process will be available should health or location reasons prevent you from visiting a Western Union Agent location.

For the time being there is no action pensioners need to take, but we will communicate instructions in due course.

Please note that the letters regarding this process will be sent from a mailing address in Omaha, USA due to logistics.

Your pension is safe

Your pension scheme was created by statute and is backed by Government. This means that your pension is well protected and guaranteed.

The ups and downs in investment markets do not affect our ability to pay pensions. So you can rest assured that your pension is secure.
