Local Pension Board - Vacancy for a Scheme Member Representative

An opportunity has arisen for a Pension Fund member to become more involved with the oversight of the Dorset County Pension Fund by becoming a Scheme Member Representative on the Local Pension Board.

Local Pension Board – Scheme Member Representative

The Public Sector Pensions Act 2013 introduced a requirement for Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) Administering Authorities to establish a Local Pension Board.

The role of a representative on the Pension Board is to represent the interests of the employers and members within the Fund and to assist the Scheme Manager in relation to:

The Local Pension Board of the Dorset County Pension Fund meets four times a year and consists of 4 Member Representatives and 4 Employer Representatives.

As a Pension Board Scheme Member Representative, you will play an important role in the governance and administration of the Fund on behalf of our scheme members by helping to ensure that it is managed efficiently and professionally.

All members of the Pension Fund (these could be active, deferred or pensioner members) are invited to put themselves forward to be one of the Scheme Member representatives.

Applicants do not need to have any previous knowledge of pension scheme management, but will need the ability to be objective, able to work in a team and able to analyse information effectively.

This is a voluntary role and you’ll be given full training and any background information you need to help you carry it out. If successful, you will also be recommended to attend relevant pension related national conferences where the fees, accommodation and travel will be paid for.

Those interested should complete an Expression of Interest Form  and return it to Dorset County Pension Fund (e-mail: [email protected] )

Expression of Interest forms should be submitted by 28 November 2025
